This is an opportunity for you to apply to be an FF Tutor for our numerous Summer Schools coming up this year!

About the Summer Schools  Future Foundations' Summer Schools are designed to raise the career and university aspirations of the most talented 16 and 17-year olds. They are typically hosted by Independent Schools and ensure students receive quality information and guidance about applying to top universities.  FF Summer Schools started in 2005 with Norwich School, coordinated by Future Foundations and funded by Aim Higher.  Now in its fifth year, the numbers have grown from 60 in 2005 to over 300 in 2008.  FF are currently preparing the 2009 Summer Schools programme. This year's Summer Schools will include visits from highly-regarded guest speakers, rigorous interview preparation and practice interviews, and life skills training.

The Summer Schools are coordinated by FF Leaders, and due to exciting demand we are launching a recruitment drive for new Tutors.  This drive is called Operation Summer Sun.

What is Operation Summer Sun? It is an ambitious recruitment drive to find the best, most talented inspiring students and graduates who are ready to take on the challenge of becoming a FF Tutor.

Who are FF Tutors? Bright and motivated undergraduates and graduates with experience of inspiring young people within academics and a passion for helping people reach their potential. They will be team players, happy to share their academic knowledge, with an ability to work hard and play harder.

What will their role be?  Their role will be to help design and implement the Summer Schools' tutorials.  Working alongside Independent School teachers, designing and delivering their own workshops about life skills, and planning innovative and challenging university subject tutorials will be just some of the exciting opportunities. They will work closely with a team of fellow trainers and teachers, while providing the energy needed to create an experience the pupils will never forget.

When are the Tutors needed?  Tutors need to be available for most (if not all) of our summer school dates.  These dates are:

Colchester – 29th June – 1st July

Westminster - 13th July - 17th July

Highgate - 24th August - 27th August

With schools still contacting us with interest, more dates might be added with time.  We will let you know of any additional dates as soon as possible.  If there are any dates you cannot make, please let us know through the registration page.

Recruitment schedule: If you think you have what it takes to inspire young people, register your interest in becoming a FF Tutor by completing and submitting this online form - the deadline for registering your interest is the 9th June 2009, 5pm.

What happens next?  After submitting your registration, we will contact all successful applicants and answer any further questions they might have.  These applicants will be invited to our office where we can have an informal discussion about the role.  During this discussion potential tutors will be asked to bring a sample tutorial plan and an updated CV.  There might be a FF Tutor "Show What You Know" Day the second week of June where all registered Tutors will come together, enjoy a BBQ, and teach a mock tutorial.  If we are not able to organise a "Show What You Know Day," we will be contacting you and discussing next steps.  After that, we will let you know if you've been selected as an FF Tutor.  From there we will schedule meetings with all Summer School Tutors for trainings

If you have any queries please contact Becky on either 08000437430 or at becky@future-foundations.co.uk.

Please note:  There are 20 questions excluding contact details on the next page. Answers should be to the point and in all cases less than 250 words, you should allow up to 20 minutes to complete them (but the system will give you 60 minutes.)
